Adult day services

At Lower Bush Farm, our mission is to provide a person-centred approach that fosters a nurturing and empowering environment through meaningful work for adults with learning disabilities. Groups assist with animal care, woodwork, gardening, and managing their orchards, woodlands, and vegetable patches. These jobs develop practical skills and foster a sense of purpose, independence, and belonging.

Animal care helps build empathy and responsibility. Our woodworking workshops are designed for a wide range of abilities and interests. Working in gardens, vegetable patches, woodlands, and orchards promotes physical activity and the benefits of being outdoors.

In addition to practical skills, the farm emphasizes the importance of community. By working collaboratively, social skills and teamwork are developed, leading to friendships and support networks.

At Lower Bush Farm, we are committed to creating an inclusive space where everyone can explore their interests, develop new skills, and enjoy meaningful adult work. All jobs are tailored to the individual. We value each individual’s contribution and encourage a culture of respect and collaboration.

The farm management is committed to collaborating with all partner agencies, such as parents and social workers, to enhance as service user’s welfare. We will address challenges quickly by ensuring that the farm has a designated contact person for each student at each placement agency.

Potential service users and their families are welcome to email or ring to arrange a time to have a look around or visit for a trial day.
