Forest School training
Level 3 Forest School Leader course.
Autumn 2019 dates (Tuesdays) September 17th, 24th, October 1st, 8th, 15th and 22nd. All dates must be attended.

The farm is running the Forest School Level 2 Award in Forest School Programme Support (assistant) and Level 3 Certificate in Forest School Leadership .
Students will learn the theory that supports the Forest School ethos including:
* Play principles
* Holistic learning
* Appropriate risk taking
* Woodland conservation
​
The practical sessions cover shelter building, safe fire management, tool use and knots.
​
Students use a range of hand tools including saws, drills, knives and peelers to make simple items appropriate for chosen age group.
​


Forest School level 2
​
The level 2 award is designed for those wishing to assist a Forest School leader deliver Forest School sessions.
​
​
Units for level 2 are:
* Skills for the Forest School Programme Assistant
* Supporting Learning and Development at a Forest School Programme
​
Entry requirements
18 years +, experience working with chosen age group.
​
Forest School level 3
​
The level 3 certificate is designed for those wishing to become qualified Forest School leaders responsible for planning and delivering Forest School sessions.

​
Units for level 3 are:
* Forest School Pogramme: Delivery
* Learning and Development
* Planning and Preparation
* Practical Skills
* The Woodland Environment
​
Entry requirements
* 19 years +, hold a level 2 qualification or above in child care, teaching, youth work, etc. 2 day first aid course including care for children which can be completed at the farm if not held already.
